the Talus Dome

One of our favourite biking destinations, the ‘shiny balls’ (officially known as the Talus Dome).
A super simple afternoon activity..
A little piece of the Edmonton river valley, as seen from the Quesnell Bridge in west Edmonton
There’s always a gorgeous view to be found in the Edmonton river valley
Today was a very Edmonton adventure, as my two happy-go-lucky-but-sometimes-cranky kids and I took a walk across the iconic Walterdale Bridge. Completed in 2017, this bridge is a huge improvement to the Edmonton skyline, and the spacious adjoining footpath is perfect for taking in the river valley.
Today seemed like a good day to visit the Royal Alberta Museum. If you haven’t been, the highly interactive Children’s Gallery alone is worth the trip. With two hours on our parking metre, I thought we would have more then enough time to explore, but it turns out we had just enough time to dig for dinosaurs, make puppets and put on a puppet show, learn about different trees, build a few towers, operate a conveyor belt, and have a quick burn through the Bug Gallery. Next time we’ll plan for 3 or even 4 hours.
